Tne Nukak
settlement Aguabonita,
is located 20 minutes
by car, outside of San
José del Guaviare,
capital of Guaviare State
in Colombia.
This project
began, when the civil
society alert us and made
a call, asking for help
and support to cure and
stop a scabies desease
in the indigenous community
Nukak.
We made
an alert with local media,
social network, local
people, radio stations
and tv news to show this
urgent emergency in the
Nukak People.

Nukak?
We create
the
instagram@sosnukak
, to upload how we are
working, the activities,
donations of civil society
to support and help
the Nukak.
We NEED
the support of all local
and government institutions
to help and #savethenukak

This
space Casa Quemada "Burned
House" is located
just 30 minutes walking
from Aguabonita. We
are looking to make
encounters with the
Circle of Nukak Women,
that create handcrafts
to preserve their art
and tradition.
Also,
we want to create a
quiet place, free of
violence and problems,
to teach how to cook,
give them food and make
activities for peace
and hope. We heard some
Nukak made the desicion
to commit suicide.This
activity is 1 time per
week (4 per month).
We need colors, notebooks,
didactic books, pencils,
pencil sharpener, origami
paper and money to travel
and collect Kumare "Natural
Fiber", to create
their handcrafts.

Also
with the Foundation
Armonía and a
teacher, we are doing
some activities of culture,
to save some young Nukak
people that suffered
the violence of war,
alcoholism, drug addiction
and prostitution. We
want to make a good
recovery and give them
a second opportunity
of life.
The
young Nukak people want
to live, work and be
happy.

Visit
of SEMANA, SEMANA TV
Last
12th April - 2022, Semana
and Semana TV;
one of the most important
news magazine in Colombia,
visited the Nukak settlement
in Guaviare. We are
looking to show to the
world what is happening
and looking for help
and support.
The
Nukak Indigenous Community,
is one of the last nomad tribes
that still exist and live
in the Amazon Forest in Colombia.
For
long time, the lived isolated
in their jungle territory.
Some news, said that the first
encounters with "white
people", happened at
the end of 70´s and
beginning of 80´s.
A
lot of Nukak people died,
because they were infected
of "white people"
diseases. The Nukak people
don´t have same immune
defense system. They used
to live between the Inírida
and Guaviare River. (Please
look red square on the map)

The
violence and armed conflict
in Colombia, made a displacement
of the population, moved from
the Nukak Forest Reserve to
the outskirts of San José
del Guaviare City. Almost
the Nukak territory have at
the moment mines (minas quiebrapatas),
that illegal armed groups
use to have the control of
drug trafficking and illegal
activities. After this, the
Nukak were established in
those settlements, without
hope and life.

Actually,
there are less of 900 Nukak
people; in Aguabonita are
20 families with 90 indigenous
people. We are asking to save
them, and give a new life
to return to their territory
someday in the jungle.
Actions
of Civil Society, NPO and
NGO.
We,
as civil society, and some
Non Profit Organizations and
NGO, made some actions to
cleaning the settlement of
Aguabonita. Also got some
cleaning stuff to stop scabies
desease.
Also,
we helped with some money
to transport the most difficult
health cases to San José
del Guaviare city, and ask
to the local government to
attend and cure them. We saved
a baby girl that the doctar
said.. "she
could have just 24 hours of
life".
We
got donations of water tanks
to have cleaning water,and
new hammocks to stop more
diseases

BIG
HELP - "AYUDATÓN"
-10th April . 2022
The
day of 10th April, we made
a medic intervention, to visit
the Aguabonita settlement
and review the Nukak people
and attend them. We gave medicine,
second hand clothes and was
cooked a big lunch this day.
After
this visit, the doctors made
30 medic interventions that
must be attended and cure
in the local hospital of San
José del Guaviare.
We hope the local institutions
will give all the support,
medicine and care.
