Forestry & Reforestation

 

Indigenous Communities involved in the project:


Villa Andrea (Loreto Lake),
San Martín Amacayacu,
Km 6 and Casiyanaira Km 11.
(2017 - 2019)

 

The Indigenous Community of Villa Andrea (Loreto) is located 10 min of Puerto Nariño; San Martín Amacayacu is located 20 minutes by boat from the Amazon River; Casiyanaira is located 30 minutes of Leticia City on the road to Takana River Km 11 and Km6 Indigenous Community is located 10 minutes of Leticia City in the Kilometers Road.

 

In this project, we will reforest and sow 20.000 trees, in 4 Indigenous Communities during 3 years.

 

We already signed a cooperation agreement, we established the nursery and seedplot. We began reforestation in all 4 Indigenous Communities to reach 5.000 Native Trees in each Community.

 

Also we developed workshops with young students in each communities and children of the families and beneficiaries.

Reforestation Project 2017 -2019

Project finished in 2019

 

Villa Andrea (Loreto)

 

We reforested 6.387 native trees, also we developed a Ecotourism Cabin, to have a sustainable economic income in the Community.

 

We put some sings for the trees, cleaned and finished the tourism pathways.

 


 

 

 

San Martín de Amacayacu

 

We reforested 10.091 native trees, total of 4.913 m2. We developed the seedplot with students and gave to the community school.

 

We have 22 beneficiaries in the project.

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

Km 6

We reforested 1.960 native trees, we worked with students of Grade 8, 9 and sowed trees around the school.

 

We encourarge the students to maintenance and take care the reforestation next year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Casiyanaira

We reforested 3.682 native trees, a field of 31.108 m2. We built a small cabin to develop their sustainable projects.

 

We finished with 12 beneficiaries, reforested native trees around the borderline of the community, and support to develop more seedplot and nursery.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Total trees reforested 22.120
